THURSDAY'S THRIFT....travel vignette

Good Morning Darlings, I hope you are having a good workday or perhaps a morning at home sipping coffee and flitting around like me.  I have been inspired lately by vintage suitcases and have been wanting to decorate with them so I gathered my new thrifted blue suitcase and a two others that were a gift from my great friend and follower of this blog Kathy.  I hope you don't want them back now that you are looking at this because you can forget it Kath, ha!

I stacked the 3 which almost made it to the ceiling but did not thank goodness because these were the 3 I wanted to use.  Total cost of all 3 suitcases $2.00.  My next find was the globe which was $3.99 from Goodwill and lastly was the vintage kodak camera that cost me $12.99 at Goodwill but was found about a year ago.  The books under the camera were also a gift so the total cost for this travel vignette was less than $20.00.  You can  decorate on a budget and acquire the look and feel you want for your home if you shop thrift stores and other discount venues.  It does require patience and a vision but it also requires a little practice, it can be done by anyone.

Just another closer view of the faux deer antlers that I added to my wall gallery of small vintage photos.  Thank you for stopping by...I love your comments, they inspire me a lot.  Dawn xo

I enjoy seeing into your home. You have a knack for decorating. I love the little lights around your travel scene. You know, I made "before" photos all around my house, but I haven't got the "after" done yet. One of these days...maybe this fall. Debbie http://thriftygirlvintage.com

I once found a green velvet jacket in a thrift shop and I was in love, but sadly a woman had it in her hands already :( It was the best green item I ever seen..maybe I'll get lucky again one day!! I shall be returning the kidness and adding you to my side list as well..wish you a great weekend petal!! xo Kizzy :)
