DINING ROOM DECOR...a little cheer

Hi darling readers.  I am in decorating mode.  I am working on my dining room because I am tired of looking at blank walls.  I gathered a few things from other areas in the house and from bins in the garage and went to work.  Just know that there was nothing on this wall before I began and everything is either trash picked (window) or thrifted.  I bought the sparkly letters for a dollar each 2 years ago.

All thrifted...

I don't know why these photos are so dark...I will be dangerous when I learn how to use my camera.  Let's just pretend I was going for ambiance.

My sweet Emma Jane, my sister's little one.  She's gonna be 4 soon.

I like how it turned out considering there was nothing in here but a table and chairs with a cabinet in the corner on the other side.  I will show that and my table as soon as they are finished.  Have a great rest of the day, sorry for my absence, I have been nursing a sick cat since Thanksgiving when I rushed him to the emergency vet.  He is doing much better.  I prayed for that little guy and held him like a baby.  I was a good mama...you would be proud.  dawn xo  Thanks for dropping by, it makes my day!!

BRINGING BACK COORDINATES...it's a twin set

Good Morning darlings, I feel like a teacher from back in the day in this coordinate, old school dress and jacket by Bayberry.  It has a union label on its tag so it's an original from I am guessing either the late 60's to 70's.  I slipped one of the barrettes from the thrift in my hair.

I am having fun with this empty wall in my living room where the big old cabinet used to be.  My husband and I are still deciding which type floors we want.  So, until we decide, the entire house is in disarray.

I switched belts just in case you hadn't noticed, I could not decide which one I liked better.  I think the real  problem was the the twin set just above the belt.  I can't wait to have my (  0  ) (  0  ) reduction.  Soon very soon.  Sunday, after having worked an 8 hour shift with the lovely seniors, I drove home with....no bra.  I took it off the magical way by unclasping and slipping it through the armhole with one hand on the wheel while driving.  I could not wait another second.   Why are men still so amazed at how we can do this?  Funny!  The relief that ensued was like taking off high heels after an 8 hour wedding....you get my drift?

I think this jungle print is playful and not too over the top.  I can wear just the a-line dress in the summer since it is sleeveless.

Have a great Wednesday, thank you for dropping in.  I am working ice cream social at work...one of my favorite activities.  Seeing their faces as I place a  bowl of ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, wet nuts (if we have them) a cherry on top and sometimes chocolate sauce is priceless.  Stay inspired!

THURSDAY'S THRIFT....travel vignette

Good Morning Darlings, I hope you are having a good workday or perhaps a morning at home sipping coffee and flitting around like me.  I have been inspired lately by vintage suitcases and have been wanting to decorate with them so I gathered my new thrifted blue suitcase and a two others that were a gift from my great friend and follower of this blog Kathy.  I hope you don't want them back now that you are looking at this because you can forget it Kath, ha!

I stacked the 3 which almost made it to the ceiling but did not thank goodness because these were the 3 I wanted to use.  Total cost of all 3 suitcases $2.00.  My next find was the globe which was $3.99 from Goodwill and lastly was the vintage kodak camera that cost me $12.99 at Goodwill but was found about a year ago.  The books under the camera were also a gift so the total cost for this travel vignette was less than $20.00.  You can  decorate on a budget and acquire the look and feel you want for your home if you shop thrift stores and other discount venues.  It does require patience and a vision but it also requires a little practice, it can be done by anyone.

Just another closer view of the faux deer antlers that I added to my wall gallery of small vintage photos.  Thank you for stopping by...I love your comments, they inspire me a lot.  Dawn xo

Hello darlings, I will have an outfit post later today but my husband and I are going to take a nice long drive to Pennsylvania to visit a few dogs at a rescue..  He has been wanting to adopt a furry little buddy to love and nurture.  I am more of a cat person but I know I will fall in love with our new addition.  Our last dog{Keana}bless her sweet heart passed from kidney failure 2 years ago.  It was a dreadful time as my husband and I were really broken hearted.   We are going to meet a few pups today and see which, if any, chooses us!!!  Pictured above are my 2 new purchases that I got on SALE at In The Knick Of Time, a lovely store  in Collingswood, NJ where I grew up.  You can find the perfect gift for everyone on your list in this store. My Aunt Eileen, of Three Piece Bikini, and I like to visit the shop and treat ourselves and others to their unique collection of beautiful furniture, housewares, artwork and jewelry.  I had been searching for a pair of humane antlers and found them at half price plus the hand doubles as a hook for my jewelry which was on sale at 50% off.  I  really enjoy  chatting with the shop owner because of her friendly personality and the no pressure to buy atmosphere is very appealing.  If you are looking for a great shopping experience and friendly service, visit In The Knick Of Time....Haddon Ave. Collingswood, NJ.  Thanks for visiting drop in again real soon...
