STYLE ME FOR LESS...

Ahhh, the peplum top from September's Issue of Style Mag Wear it now, Wear it later.   I don't have one.  I am going to add one to my Fall wardrobe without a doubt.  But more importantly, the chevron printed pants.  I tore this page out and ran to my closet remembering that I had something that would keep me from scouring the thrift stores or worse...the Mall.  I don't really shop the mall, I mostly go to Macy's, Tj maxx or Marshall's.  I found these leggings in May at Macy's.  I was dreaming of Fall in May.  I always do because it is the month in which I was born and it is also when the heat begins to suffocate me.

Thank you Kathy Tassles for leaving this magazine at my home. A pretty good outfit was born of this page.  What I love, the difference in price.

After having added up the prices of both, here's what I came up with.

HUGE DIFFERENCE!  Their cost: over $1500.00 dollars.  What?  My Cost:  less than $60.00 bucks.

This may be a new blog feature.  I know I begin a lot of new features and don't follow thru with them but this may stick.  Have a great day.  Yes, yes, I am going to post myself wearing this...you bet I am!  Dawn xo

Bar III leggings/macy's $34.00
Shoes/payless thrifted less than $5.00
Jacket thrifted/$3.99
Assymetrical zipper top/less than $10.00 either tj or marshall's
Ruth Saltz Vintage Purse with lion's head pull for opening/thrifted less than $5.00

Oooooh, love this and can't wait to see your sassy self posing in it. But how long do we have to wait? I'm excited to see you in those fantastic leggins. I would have bought them myself if I'd seen them. I shop Macy's a lot too. Fall is my favorite season!

LOVE it! Both the idea for the feature and the fab outfit you styled, those chevron tights are va va voom, can't wait to see them on! I'm not looking forward to cooler weather (because Canadian winters are just brutal!) but will enjoy wearing printed tights again!

Can't wait to see you wear this! That jacket looks great! I've been drooling over peplum for months now and finally decided to splurge after not seeing anything at my thrift stores- it should arrive tomorrow!

I like your version better, Dawn, the jacket is more interesting, and the leggings are fabulous. Now we need to see you modelling the ensemble, please! xxx

Isn't it amazing what can be replicated from magazines at a fraction of a fraction of the price?! I've done that a couple of times and excitedly shown my husband the photo...and then my outfit while detailing the similarity, but the HUGE price difference. A strategic move on my part to show him what I "could" be spending versus my thrifting expenditures....so he is under the impression that he's really getting off easy. haha He does always tell me what a good shopper I am when I display my bagful of goodies and outline my bargains.
I would love this feature on your blog. It is a fun way to see that we can dress in outfits that look every bit as good as $1500 ones.

That is really lovely. I like the trousers, the design is gorgeous! I think for cheaper, this is better actually :)) I might get a peplum for the autumn, now that people seem to be trying other stuff. I love Fall, my birthday time too :))) Have a wonderful weekend petal! xoxox
