IINSPIRATION MONDAY...the bridge

Eva Mendes...the inspiration

Hi darling readers, how was your weekend?  Mine was so good!  Spent my time keeping busy with the yard sale Saturday and then on Sunday, Kathy, her 18month old niece, Rob, the dogs and I hopped in Kathy's SUV and headed up to New Hope, Pa.  It is one of my most favorite places to visit in Pennsylvania.  We stopped at the Golden Nugget flea market in Lambertville, New Jersey and then found great parking for lunch in the beautiful, quaint, town at the Lambertville Station for my coveted Bloody Mary.  I love that drink, but mostly love the huge, green olives, celery, cheese cubes, lime and lemon they add to it.  It's a freakin meal, the kick it has with just enough spice makes me a very happy girl!!!  I love that we were able to bring the dogs on the outside deck for lunch...they were such good girls.

After lunch we headed for the foot bridge that connects Lambertville, New Jersey to New Hope, Pennsylvania.   It is the most beautiful walk from one state to the next and a unique town awaits you on the other side.  We stopped for a coffee and visited one of the vintage clothing stores chock full of great items.  Rob took the dogs for a walk through the town as Kathy, little K, and I browsed around.   We headed back over the bridge to the car and headed home...just a gorgeous day all around.

STYLE ME FOR LESS...

Hi darling readers, this is the second installation of my new feature for this blog called "Style Me For Less".   It sounds like it should be a TV show, maybe it is and they stole my name.  Well, I never know when I am going find my next magazine page that makes me stop what I am doing and run to my closet.  It happened today as I was going through some bins in the garage getting ready for my yard sale this weekend.  I found this random page from "In Style" mag.  It was wrinkled and just lying there in a bin.  I snatched it up and went straight to my closet,  here's what I came up with.  Darn, now I need a celery scarf but this one did the trick because the idea is to use what you already have in your own closet.

Thrifted jeans, shoes, purse, belt, shirt. Scarf and sunglasses bought at regular retail stores.

Their cost:  don't faint, $1,857.00
My cost:  Even with 2 Coach items which includes the bag and sunglasses plus a new pair of shoes, my outfit was significantly less at  $166.00.  Now, if you really want to applaud me, take away the Coach sunglasses and throw in a pair of my vintage thrifted ones and make it $30.00 total for everything.  It really pays to thrift.  Have a great day, thanks for entertaining me....ha!  dawn xo  I can't wear this to work but I am definitely wearing it tomorrow.
