PRETTY BEDDING AND NEW SHOES....

Hi Darling readers, thank you for the sweet, encouraging comments since my relapse.  It meant so much for me to click on and see that I had comments regarding my crazy, ongoing recovery.  Seeing my primary doctor soon and spoke with the surgeon last night. I told him about the emotional/physical pain that I have been feeling and he wrote me a script for Flexeril which calms the nerve endings and my primary will take care of the rest.  This will also help my neck and back that have been bothering me from sleeping in different positions trying to find comfort and get sleep.  He also told me that people beg him to let them begin exercise after two weeks of having a reduction....what the French?  They are crazy...I can't imagine any exercise right now.   What a mess!  Really, I feel like a big mess.  I need a makeover and plan on getting one when all is less painful and hopefully in time for my birthday in the beginning of May.

Bedding found at Marshall's.  Came with two throw pillows, 2 king size shams, and a reversible comforter that is soft and light for the warmer months.  I could not resist the dusty rose pillow pictured.  I think it adds some charm and a little punch of color.

Not quite sure how to arrange throw pillows so I have tried different ways many times...

New Franco Sarto shoes from Marshall's that are super comfortable....

I threw this crocheted blanket over my old steamer trunk for a softer/cottage feel next to my bed...

I will be using some of the following photos to create the botanical collage on the wall above my bed....

Drawing of image on water...

A book of copies of old love letters...
So many options...

Anyway, I did manage, on one of my good days, to make my bed up and decorate my room a little.  I am planning on creating a botanically inspired wall using photos from the books that I found around the house.  Pinterest, if you are following along with me, has a few examples of the walls that I love and want to recreate above my bed.  I hope you are all doing well, I am trying to make it to your blogs, with the added neck and back pain, I have been limiting my computer time which may be  contributing to the neck pain.  Have a great day and stay inspired...I am trying to take my own advice.  Dawn xo

Well, of course the bedding is adorable, gorgeous pretty colours. And all the botanical illustrations are delightful. And I love your trunk with the throw over it.
But most of all - I want those SHOES!!!
Thanks for commenting on my blog, Dawn, I appreciate it's tricky for you at the moment. I hope you feel better soon, and hope my ridiculous dressing up gives you a laugh! xxxx

Your bedroom is absolute perfection!!!! I would do anything for a floral bedspread-my husband refuses...alas we have a very gender neutral bed set. And those shoes are INCREDIBLE! I can't wait to see how you wear them! And finally, I'm sorry you're still feeling like junk. And seriously, idk how you could exercise so soon after a reduction. Peeps be cray! FEEL BETTER, stat! Oh, Dawn. I wish I could just give you a big (gentle) hug. I'm so sorry you're in so much pain and I do hope you get better soon.

Also, exercise is over-rated (that may or may not be true).

Finally, I'm probably going to copy you on those shoes - I love the color!

First time commenter--I love your blog and oh, how I wish I could do this to my bedroom! I also just wanted to say, so sorry you are in pain. I had major surgery July 2010 and was in so much pain, for weeks, and I met a woman who had the same surgery who said, oh, I never had to take the pain meds... I was bored at home after a week... I asked my dr. if I could start golfing after 2 weeks... while I took every bit of the pain meds, couldn't sleep, couldn't sit up for long times, etc. So it takes what it takes, we're all different!Don't worry, you will bounce back to your sunny self soon. Take care! Kris

So sorry to hear about your relapse. It's crazy that it's been so many weeks since the original surgery and you're still having such a tough time! Although I know even just basic anesthesia can screw you up on its own for quite a while. Everything else on top of that is quite a bit to handle.

Anyway, I agree, your bedroom looks like an actual catalogue. It's amazing. I couldn't complete that on my best day, so I'm totally envious.

You have done a beautiful job of decorating your bedroom. Love the rose pillow.
One of the best things I ever did for my neck and back was get a Tempurpedic pillow and bed. I got the pillow before we got the bed and it sure made a difference. It feels weird at first but it is sure great to sleep on.

Your bedding is gorgeous!! Love the colors. I want it for my room. haha And I love the botanical prints you'll be framing. So perfect and beautiful. That's got to help you feel a little better to rest in such a luxurious bedroom.

Dawn, I wouldn't worry about benchmarking your progress against anyone but yourself. You'll get there and a year from now I'm sure you'll be glad you endured these few weeks of pain. I hope the new medication is helping though!

Your new bedroom looks fabulous. It's looks country chic and SOOO you! You've inspired me spruce up our bedroom but I'm going to do in on a small budget since we're in a rental. It'll probably take a few weeks because we're busy these days but eventually I'll put a before-and-after up on the blog.
