STRIPES, FLORALS AND BOOBS....

Hello and welcome to Suitcase Vignettes, I am so excited to have you follow along with me.  You are just in time for something exciting that is going down for me in March.  This outfit is what I wore to the plastic surgeon's office yesterday to finalize the details of my (.)(.) reduction.  That icon is a set of boobs just in case you didn't get it. Thanks for the icon idea, Kathy!!  If you missed the post where I talked about the good news for me, then CLICK here and follow along on my journey to a new and improved me.  The only details of that story that have changed is that the insurance company won't pay which had delayed my surgery 6 months.  Finally, it is going to happen.   The surgeon and his wonderful staff did the best they could with the cost knowing that my husband and I are paying for this (mostly my husband).  God Bless him, he (Rob) never did complain about them but he listened to my numerous complaints about my boobs.

If I make reference to the (.)(.) job in every post from now on, please understand that it is my way of using humor to get me through this anxious time leading up to the actual day.  Eventually, I will post a photo of me in a bathing suit top before the surgery so that you can get a better idea of why this is a necessary procedure.  I would never put myself through something like this or any other other procedure unless it was affecting my life on a daily basis.  I live my life around a bra.  I have timers set on my bra (mentally).  When I am getting dressed, I dread heading over to the bra and pantie drawer to select something that is going to make me miserable for the next however many hours I wear it.  My shoulders ache as divots form within a few minutes of wearing a boulder holder.  I know that there are people out there with bigger boobs than me but my frame can't take this boobage anymore.  I feel blessed to be able to get this done in spite of insurance companies having no compassion for women who have physical pain from body parts.

Another thing that I am working on is getting the extra pounds off and working out more regularly so that my body proportions will continue to match. The doctor told me that I will appear 10lbs thinner just from the reduction...yay!  I am figuring with that and working out, I should feel better and look better too.

I could go on but I will save some for next time.  Any boobs jokes are welcome in the comment section so feel free and be creative, I have heard most of them. I have told most of them!!!  Have a great day

Oh Dawn...I am loving these stripes and florals together! Fabulous!!! The jeans aren't half bad either. I really love this look!

Now on to your (.)(.)'s ...lol. I am happy for you and your reduction. I have a few friends who have experienced what you describe and had a reduction. They say it changed their lives. If you want to ref your boobage in future posts...have at it! For all the uncomfort you've endured over the years, you have the right!

Blessings!

LOL, I have no good jokes for you! But I wanted to say I'm happy for you - I went to college with a girl who had breast reduction and she said it was the best thing she ever did, all her back problems disappeared!

I do love your striped blazer, boobs or no boobs, lol!

Great stripe jacket
I have several friends that have already gone through what you are going through
They have not regretted it for a minute!
All of them said they only wish they would have done it sooner.
Good luck on your journey

Oh, Dawn, don't worry, everything is going to turn out wonderfully. Wonderfully.

Also, I need that blazer. Actually, I need the whole outfit, but if you wanted to just part with the blazer, that'd be cool.

Hey Girl - I love this mix! So creative... You'll be more than 10lbs lighter after lopping them down, heck each booboid is 10lbs itself. I can't wait until you're free of them - you'll run faster and jump higher!

Love the stripes/floral combination, I'm going to pinch that idea so thank you!
My sister and a good friend have both had breast reductions, and are different women afterwards - so much happier and more confident. So good luck with yours - no jokes, just lots of good wishes. xxx

First of all, awesome outfit!

Second of all, CONGRATULATIONS. I'm a D, so I can only imagine being a G. They sound like a huge pain in the ass. Good for you for doing something to change it. It'll be so much easier for you to exercise, too. I just recently discovered the wonder of a high-impact sports bra...before I was running in a normal bra, nearly poking my eyes out with every step. Wait. What does that have to do with anything?

Good luck! I know it'll go fine. And yes, please blog about the ( . ) ( . )s. You know we love it.

I went to TJ Maxx today on my lunch break in search of this blazer and I found it! But I ended up buying one almost identical except the stripes are thicker. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Dawn, I understand how you feel. I'm heavy chested also and it really hinders me. It's so costly and insurance doesn't cover it. I'm still on the fence regarding it. Good luck to you. You will be pleased.
