THURSDAY'S THRIFT...link up with Spunky Chateau

Hi Darlings, I have been working during the day this week. If I had to work days, I would but I have been filling in for other activities associates.  Yesterday, we did shadow boxes and Christmas cards from 2pm until 5:30pm which was fun and then I went back to my area and worked the Ice cream social until 8:30 pm.  Yep, I go room to room and serve ice cream to over 50 seniors who are just thrilled to have someone come to their room with an ice cream cart equipped with toppings and five huge tubs of various flavors.  How cute was it when I walked into one of the rooms and 2 of my darling seniors were all snug under their covers, in their cozy jammies, lights low,  t.v. loud as you know what, watching a Christmas program featuring Christmas carols.  Of course, I had to pretend that I was a karaoke star and sing along belting out "White Christmas".  They got a chuckle out of my silliness. I served them creamy butter pecan topped with pretzels and off I went wishing them a good night.  I know, I know, I have a fun job!!  It has downfalls too...as we all know nothing is perfect.  But I do love my seniors :)
Today I am linking up to Spunky Chateau who looks adorable in her high waisted, vintage pants and lovely setting.  So click on over here and link up too!!!

This dress is the one I bought last week when I broke my thrifting hiatus.  It is by Coldwater Creek and I love its Little House on the Prairie feel and sheer flowiness.  Price was 9 bucks at Goodwill.  I did not intend to look so serious in these photos...

Ralph Lauren blazer $3.99
Owl necklace gifted
TJ Maxx belt probably $20. but I love good accessories
Vintage, made in Italy, leather purse $9.00 Goodwill
TJ Maxx studded, knee high boots less than $40.

If looks could kill....

Hi Dawn - what a gorgeous dress, you look so late 70s Ralph Lauren! (And how do you get a RL jacket for $3.99?? I need to go thrift shopping in the US I think!) Plus your hair should be a national monument... it is truly monumental. Wows me every time!

What a beautiful dress, I love it's length!! The shade of colours suit you very much!! How precious are your seniors, would love to go with you to work and sing to them and just enjoy their company!! (I enjoy doing that when I visit my Nana - though sadly she is in America and I am here, so I don't get to anymore)! I hope you are doing well this week and Happy December 1st to you!! xx

I love to read your comments about your seniors. Hopefully someday we will all be seniors and will be lucky enough to have someone like you to take care of us!

I like the happy feisty Dawn better. I would never want to be on the other end of one of those looks that could kill!
My little neighbor is 86 and just had a stroke. Her and I became friends several years ago and I went to visit her. I was petrified walking through the halls. It was so sad seeing those poor people slumped in their wheel chairs. I almost chickened out and bolted. I finally made it to her room and there she was in a purple sweat suit with a cheeta throw. I was so relieved. Tomorrow I am taking her some ice cream (already approved)
Have a good weekend and talk to you soon.

very classy outfit. Look like a page from the anthropologie lookbook, I know you're sick of hearing this, I just couldn't help saying this. You look gorgeous, I actually like this "serious" looking you, it's called attitude. The jacket is an awesome thrifted find!
