THE WOODS...part 2/ "Things in Nature" {new blog feature}

Latetly I have been finding a lot of inspiration while on my dog walks through the woods behind my home.  It is so enlightening and peaceful there that is has actually made the humid summer more tolerable for me and has awakened my nature loving spirit as well as, help me overcome some of my fears of bugs, vulnerablility of being alone in the woods, and don't laugh but, the fear/strong dislike of being too overheated.  I have always been sensitive to heat and humidity but lately it has not bothered me as much.  My mood actually fluctuates when I am hot...it sucks but this is how I am wired.

I gathered these mushrooms having been inspired by the many botanical mushroom prints and charts featured on the web.  I placed them in a vintage enamel tray that I found at Goodwill.  I included a Blue Jay feather a weedy flower, 2 different species of moss, a bottle that is acting as a terrarium with live roots in it  that I unearthed on one of my walks, a big seed pod and various mushrooms.  I like how they all appear so organic and blend so well together.

Unfortunately, my husband had to ruin my groove and inform me that my mushroom plate smelled really bad so I had to dispose of it after 2 days.  I am happy to have captured these photos and others.  I hope you like this new feature on my blog as I spend time in nature recording my findings...have a great week darlings and thanks for visiting me.

A closer view...

I hope this inspires the nature lover in you!!  With Fall approaching, I am sure there will be an entirely new selection of  things to photograph....Dawn xo

That is actually pretty cool! You made mushrooms look pretty by putting them in the plate like that! I love nature, especially on a cool brisk fall day when the leaves are changing. That is my favorite time of year!
