INSPIRATION MONDAY....Olivia Palermo

Olivia Palermo

Hello darlings, today is Inspiration Monday at Two Birds blog where sisters Megan and Nora host an opportunity for you to wear something in your closet that is similar to the celebrity that they choose and then post on their site here!!  Don't worry they give you plenty of time to  prepare and interpret the outfit by posting  their celebrity of choice early in the week.  I look forward to seeing who they choose with anticipation.  This week is the gorgeous, skinny, fashionista, Olivia Palermo who has never looked bad a day in her life.  She probably rolls out of bed looking gorgeous.  Anyway, I don't roll out of bed looking gorgeous and I have pictures to prove it.  One morning I woke up and looked in the mirror thinking wow, my hair looks pretty good for just having rolled out of bed and my face doesn't look too scary either so I grabbed my camera and snapped away.  Later, as I was driving to the camera repair shop to have my  camera fixed because it broke right then and  there, I thought....and you were going to post a photo of what you looked like first thing in the morning....bullcrap!  When I returned from the camera store, my mirror that I first looked in that morning was actually cracked!!!  Sounds pretty suspicious but it is a made up story to see if you are reading this post....just kidding!!  I did really take photos of myself first thing and well, they are filed under T (trash) and will never be posted.

Anyway, my black lace and sequin dress is from Macy's {on sale} for less than $20.00 and my vintage 80's jacket with shoulder pads is from Goodwill having paid $3.99.  I had it dry cleaned and cut the big ugly buttons off the collar.  My vintage clutch was a steal for $1.99 at Goodwill.  Shoes by Bongo and sunglasses by Coach on sale.  I hope you like my interpretation...thank you Two Birds, I felt really sophisticated in this outfit today plus I have really been wanting to wear socks with shoes.  Have a great day darling followers and  welcome new followers...I will be by to visit.  Dawn xo

This outfit is amazing. I skipped inspiration monday again this week because I just couldn't figure out how to style something inspired by the look. I hate skipping it though cause it's one of my favorite blog events!

love this outfit, been out of touch since on vacation, now back to reality, we should all go to maine together one summer, we would have a blast. Anyway, picked up kitty and he is much tamer, I guess 10 days in a cage will do that, I missed him so much.

you never fail to crack me up...i think it was more like you were too gorgeous for your mirror. The blazer is amazing! Shoulder pads are in definitely, forever! I've been wanting to wear socks with heels, just don't have the courage. It's not the norm here.

Saw your post on another blog and had to check you out. I love you version of Olivia's outfit! So cute, and I do love me an oversized clutch, lol. I have few and my hubby always makes fun of them, saying they're impractical. He doesn't know much... :P
I will definitely be back to read more. Your post was too funny to not to. :)

Dawn, I've been absent for a while but Baby I'm back!
You look to cute in that outfit. I like shoulder pads too, But since I already have pretty wide shoulders I don't want to look like a defensive lineman for the Bears (even though they could use the help!)
See ya around in blogger land. I have a feeling it's going to be a crappy winter!
