DECKED OUT...

Hello darlings, so much going on with the recent earthquake, impending hurricane Irene, trying to finish up projects to improve our home like this gorgeous deck that my husband and I stained.  I just had to dance on it with all of the open space and cleanliness.  My husband built some sliding gates as pictured behind me, so that the dogs can't play on the deck anymore.  They scuff it up because they play so rough.  See the little wheels.  We took everything off the deck and put it on the grass while we stained it but I want to keep it clean and open like this.  Anyway, this is my happy dance....spinning, twirling and jumping and then pulling up my top because well, you know why.

I thrifted this dress 2 years ago as it has become my favorite muu muu!!  I paid $5.99 for it at Goodwill.  I wasn't planning on doing a post today but since we are going to be experiencing some pretty harsh weather and I have to work all weekend, I thought it best to get one in.  I didn't have time to get jazzed up today because our driveway was getting resurfaced but I did wear this dress to the church thrift store and then Macy's.

If you are in the projected path of the storm, I pray for your safety as well as our own.  We live less than 50 miles from the Atlantic Ocean's coast and pray that our friends and family will be safe too.  Have a safe and wonderful weekend. Dawn xo

Love the dress doll and the deck came out great! Awesome job! The rains are starting, as you know, and I was going to try to get in some quick shoe shopping but best to stay close to home today. Be safe girl - I hope you don't have to drive in this but if you do, stay away from any puddles!!!

Nice deck. I also love when you show your home's interior. I've browsed your Halloween posts since I'm decorating this year. Maybe I'll share some of mine when I get done.

I love your dress. I would like to have something like that for looking chic and comfortable at the same time.

I hope you all are safe in the storm. Debbie http://thriftygirlvintage.com

I LOVE those photos of you twirling! I have missed seeing you during my crazy summer away from blogging (hoping to start back up soon). I hope you all made it through Irene with minimal damage. I was on an island in the middle of the Chesapeake Bay when she came, and we managed great.
