Is that a fox going by? No, it's just Georgia running about. Hi, darling readers, I've been absent. My mom, who finally called me, is now in the hospital and I have not felt like blogging much because of this. She is really sick but the doctor told her that she can recover and maintain what little kidney function she has left if she will eat right and comply with what he says. I am thankful that she called me and that we talked things out before she went to the emergency room and was admitted. It must have been that Bram Stoker's, Dracula book from the thrift store that I gifted her that prompted the phone call on Thanksgiving, to thank me. She told me yesterday that she had her friend bring the book to the hospital so she could read it, she is funny like that . She is funny in general, believe me. So, my sisters Stephanie, Jill and I are taking turns visiting, calling, and making sure she is ok, while in the hospital. She's afraid and I don't blame her, she's in remission from cervical cancer 2 years ago, I 'm not sure if I talked about that on this blog but it was a really rough road for her and all involved and of course, it always became complicated when our relationship was strained to begin with. I know we love each other but sometimes (a lot of times) we don't see eye to eye. |

dawn, i'm sorry about your mom. i'm glad you are speaking and she reached out to you. or rather, that you were a fabulous daughter and gave her that book. you look lovely and warm and cozy. i love the hat and boots and coat. i also love your thrifted table and the whole vignette!
You look gorgeous doll...am really sorry about your mom, I do hope she will be ok and take good care of herself. Am glad she is reading the book, so nice for those moments. And it's good you and your sisters are going to see her too!! I like your boots, I like things with pom poms on them, although, I usually end up taking them off if they keep hitting me, haha!! I shall keep you all in my heart and prayers...do take good care!! xoxo
I hope your Mom feels better.

It's good you and your mum are talking again, Dawn, sometimes it takes a crisis to bring people back together. You might never see eye to eye, but that shouldn't mean you can't support one another in difficult times. Good for you for visiting and caring, it can be tough to do that if you feel angry or unfairly treated.
I think the dress is cute but if it doesn't make you feel great, then it has to go. I bet you have plenty of others that you love more!
Good luck with your couch hunt, and I hope your mum will be OK. xxxxx
i love your pom pom hat dawn! i'm sorry to hear about your mom's illness, but so glad to hear that you two are communicating. you both love each other :) i hope things turn around for her soon. i'll be praying for your family Dawn. take all the time you need away from blogging. family comes first. that's a great way to see if you want to keep or get rid of something.

Oh, Dawn, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mum. I hope she gets to feeling better soon!
I'm sorry to read about your mom; challenging relationships make these times more difficult but I've every confidence in your ability to deal with it. Hope she is doing better very soon.
You look wonderful in your pompommy goodness!
I hope your mum's okay. Even though we might not always get along with them, or think they care at times, we always need our mums don't we xxx
So sorry about your mom, Dawn. I am glad to hear that you are visiting her. By the way, you look adorable and I love Dracula by Bram Stoker. I was by myself when I read it and put garlic at the windows :)
My darling husband and I were out to lunch the other day and ran across Dig This. It was closed, but the door was open, so in we went. I yelled "Mom I home what's for dinner" as I felt like I was going back in time to my childhood home. Met the owner, he was doing some refinishing work but def. will be back, on a open day.
I am glad you're mending fences with your momma!
Dear Pom Pom Girl, ;)
I am sorry about your mom. I don't care if mothers and daughters are on again, off again, have one of those love-hate things, or are always on the outs, or in love all the time, it's still your mom. I am glad you got a chance to talk. I hope she will soon be better. It's hard to eat right and do the right things all the time. I will be thinking of you all. Love the little table for 1.50! I just love GW Boutique. And you look great in your dress, even if it's on its way out!!!
xoxo

boo to spitting rain! dawn, it's nice to know you talked to your mom. sorry she has to go through such medical garbage. i like that outfit, so it's a good thing you took photos for us to see before you donated that dress. i'm the same way about my clothes. if i don't like the fit, or how it looks, or feels, it's bye bye bye. ;)
