CHRISTMAS AT CLANCY'S....

I'm guilty of having worn this outfit before, sans the thrifted, peach, bow belt that I found recently for $1.99.  I had been wanting a belt with a bow but was too cheap to buy new so I waited and it appeared at my local Goodwill.  I believe it's vintage due to the color and weight of the bow itself.  Kinda has an 80's feel to it.  Anyway, I wore this to our annual Christmas lunch with the other Activities associates from work.  Our boss treats us which is really nice.   We met at a  local place near work called Clancy's.  We pick our holidays that we wouldn't mind working for next year and then spent the rest of the time goofing off, taking silly photos and of course, gossiping, I mean catching up.  oooops.  Come on, you know you've done this.

I'm going to dye my hair soon, my roots are over an inch which means it's been over 2 months since I last dyed  it.  I was waiting for the annual, work Christmas party on the 14th so that it looks fresh and my gray won't have a chance to pop thru...hate that.  I should make a list of things that your mom should have talked to you about other than menstrual cycles and the sex talk.  How about gray hair, chin hair, cellulite, spider veins, dry heels, moles that suddenly appear and crows feet.  Forget about sex and cycles, I think that these other issues are more damaging and are of greater importance.  We need to know how to prepare for these things...forget about balancing a checkbook, how about sun spots, bushy eyebrows, wrinkly hands, dry skin and menopausal mood swings?  Just to name a few more.  I think I just made a list.  Feel free to add to it, I'm sure I've forgotten a few.  Rant over.

I hope you are having a great day in spite of things that change over time.  I'm working card night with the seniors tonight.  Rob went to work with me last week and brought the pups along for dog tricks.  The seniors loved the dog tricks and Rob said this, at the end, "that's a lot of work".  Yes, my work can be intense at times, not all fun and games.  There are those issues of people falling, having accidents or needing to go to the bathroom stat, needing a drink of water or tissues, acting out, dietary restrictions, eating things like bingo chips, and wandering off.  Just to list a few.  Ok, I am going to stop making lists now.  Have a good one.  dawnxo

You look lovely; the addition of the peach belt is just perfect.

I think my mom was remiss in teaching me a lot of things, but my parents were totally absent-minded, both of them, so I'm not surprised.

dawn, this outfit is a beauty! it doesn't matter if you've worn it 5 times before, unless it's in the same week. ;) i need to color my hair again too. i'm like didn't i just color it? i believe you that your job takes a lot of energy. i'm sure you do it well.

Love your ruffley dress with the addition of the cardigan and cute belt. Your Christmas lunch sounds fun.
I think if our mums had told us all that stuff about getting older, we wouldn't have listened anyway... You never think it's going to happen to you! I hear ya, though... I am that peri-menopausal grey haired woman too! xxx

Love this outfit! You look so classy and beautiful. I personally refer to gossiping as 'networking' :)

Eating things like bingo chips? That's a bizarre mental image! LOVE the black ruffles, purple & the belt (I have a similar one in gold that I love!) Our Christmas dinner is in a few weeks, it's just me and one colleague so the Board of Directors is treating us! So sweet that Rob brought the pups to your work, animal therapy works wonders!
