INSPIRATION MONDAY...studs and needlepoint

Pippa Middleton...the inspiration
Hello!  Welcome to Inspiration Monday with sisters, Megan and Nora of Twobirds.  Today we are inspired by Pippa Middleton.  I like her outfit.  It gave me a reason to wear this LBD again.  Last time I wore it, it was Valentine's Day when Rob and I had a big date planned to get our taxes done.  Romantic, I know!  I tried something different today, a more industrial location.  Ok, I am behind Barnes and Noble if you must know.  Just me and the Fed Ex guy who happened upon my photo shoot.  He pulled up and asked if I was taking photos of my car.  I told him no, I was taking photos of myself...blush.   He told me that his son has a Saturn and that they are great cars.  I told him that I am going to run it into the ground before I get a new one.  He told me that they last forever...I guess I won't be getting a new car anytime soon.  Forever?  I think he was hoping that I was going to sell it, he was interested in it.   He was nice, I felt safer with him back there.  The building backs up to the woods so I was vigilant during my post prior to his arrival.  He unloaded his truck and I finished up just when it began to rain.
Dug out my vintage tapestry bag/goodwill.  I always bring out my collection during the colder months.  I just love a good vintage bag.

I actually wore this outfit to Target today.  I had to pick up a few things and was proud of myself for sticking to my list and not buying shoes or that green dress on clearance.  It was tough but I got away with a clean conscience.  I also resisted thrifting all week.  I have to begin wearing the things that I own and have not worn.  This studded belt is one of them.  Picked it up on sale somewhere a year ago.  I am making an effort to wear things that I have not worn and ditching them if once worn, do not work with my wardrobe.  I have too much!! It's overwhelming sometimes.  I know you feel me on this one, especially if you thrift. Also thank you for your more than kind comments about the crazy cat lady.  I was truly touched.  I even read the comments to Rob.    Thank you twobirds for hosting.  Have a great day!

I always feel that whenever I see these "inspired looks" the blogger always does a better job than the Hollywood model. Maybe because they just look more real, or for the fact that bloggers make it look warmer, whatever it is. You did this one up great!!

first of all, dawn, it never gets old to have someone tell you that you look beautiful, right? i hope not, because i'm telling you again! this dress made me think of two things...one, that i also own it in pink and need to find it so i can wear it, and two, you look so great in it! seriously, your teeny little waist! you look amazing!!! funny about the fed ex guy. i probably would have stammered and pretended i was taking photos of my car!

your story about the fed ex guy makes me chuckle. watch out for overly friendly guys. remember stay safe play safe. good going on sticking to your list at target. dawn, i like your version better than the inspiration. the needlepoint bag with the studded belt, the bright blue dress, with the green jacket all work together wonderfully. :)

I agree with Joni, bloggers do it better! But then I am not a fan of minor celebrities (or posh girls/royal hangers-on, in Pippa Middleton's case. Ooh, harsh! Got out of bed the wrong side this morning, ha!)
LOVE YOUR BAG. sorry, I had to shout.
Keep digging out and wearing your old stuff, Dawn, you look great! xxxx
