THE COLOR OF NATURE...

Happy Friday!  This week has been so long.  I guess that is good since I have to work all weekend.  Did I tell ya that on the weekend  at work I get to play receptionist in the lobby for an hour each day?  It's one of the highlights of my day.  I relieve the receptionist for lunch and answer the phones among other duties.  I love to people watch as the weekends are busy with relatives and friends visiting the residents, people needing lunch vouchers, pharmacy dropping off meds, residents needing directions pertaining to things like, where the dining room is or where their apartment is located.  Yep, you heard me right...I just direct them in my kindest manner to their designation.  They are sweet and I would want someone like me someday to tell me how to get back to my room or where to eat lunch.

I found this dress from Anthropologie with the tags still on it at Goodwill for $5.99.  The retail price on the tag read $138.00.  I would not have paid that much for this soft, cotton dress because I am too cheap am too thrifty.  I love Anthropologie for inspiration and I do treat myself to their items once in a while but I end up in their clearance section every time.  After I leave Anthro I go to Goodwill and score something from Anthro. nearly every time.  I am lucky that way.  So, have a great weekend and stay inspired.  Dawn xo

You are so lucky!! I am jealous... I try to go to goodwill and would never find anything from Anthro... at least that's in my size. This looks so great on you. :) You have inspired me to stop in my local thrift store tonight before happy hour! SO we will see... I am not banking on any good finds though.

What a great score! I used to volunteer in a long-term care home and it's so important to help the residents keep their dignity. There was a gentleman with Parkinson's who used a walker and always took a 'shortcut' through a staff office, which maybe him saved 2 meters of walking. Trouble is he always forgot that his walker was barely wide enough for the doorway and would get stuck. So we would gently steer him through or back into the hall, maybe pointing out something on the wall he should check out.
