I found this Albert Nipon blouse many months ago while thrifting and have been wanting to wear it with something summery other than a skirt. I don't normally wear shorts above my knees due to many spider veins from years in the medical field but I put on some self tanner, stepped out of my comfort zone and went to Marshall's and Target. I swear, I was totally paranoid. I thought people were looking at my legs and saying things like, "is she jaundice" or "lay off the self tanner". Anybody who knows me personally, knows that I refer to my one leg as my "blue leg" because of the patch of bluish veins concentrated in one area. It sucks but I deal with it. We all have our insecurities. Anyway, I am feeling really good and that is what matters most to me at this point. I am grateful to be able to face the shower head, run from a bee and sleep on my side since my breast reduction. These things may not seem significant to y'all but they are milestones for me. Have a great weekend and stay encouraged in spite of your little imperfections and insecurities. dawn xo |

Beautiful...love that top :) I'm not a fan of wasps or bees. I'm glad you are feeling better after the reduction and are able to do things normally once again. And not to worry about the veins, the little imperfections and stuff are exactly what make us perfect, otherwise we'd just be boring ;) And you are a beauty!! xox Have a super weekend!
You look FANTASTIC! And I totally love this look :)
Oh, that top is just amazing! And it looks even better on you. Also, for what it's worth? I think you have lovely legs.
Have a great weekend, Dawn!

dawn it shows you're getting braver & stronger, which is definitely a good thing! hooray. :D
I'm glad you're feeling more back to normal,Dawn. Very pretty blouse.
I was worrying about my streakiness (from self tanner) on my legs and feet on my way into Target today.ha Direct sunlight enhances those insecurities, but I try not to let it bother me too much because I know I look better than the alternative of ghostly white.
Oh the things we take for granted...lol. I love this outfit. I love how you paired the green with the blue...fabulous!!!

Well hello sailor! You look nautically nice in this gorgeous outfit, you don't look uncomfortable in shorts at all, you've got great legs. I know what you mean about veins though, I've got prominent veins on one knee which I am conscious of, though I don't suppose anyone else notices, or cares.
Glad you can run away from a bee now, should you need to! xxxx
You look so beautiful Dawn! You rocked the shorts wonderfully!!! Love your blog and always love seeing what you are up too!

There is a cover up makeup made especially for covering up veins and scars. I can't remember the name but I think Ulta has it.
You look darling in this outfit and I can see the results of your reduction. I hope you are doing much better.
Ha blue leg... I have two blue veins that look like somebody with a small mouth bit me, exactly like two halves of a bite mark on my thigh. Akward!
lovely post with lovely words. i agree, we have so many insecurities, the main thing is to admit it and accept it and be comfortable with it, because with one imperfection, we have so many other beautiful traits in return...
