MYSTERY OF THE UPPERS....

Anthropologie shirt that I did not purchase but really liked.  It did not fit over my hips at bottom...bummer.
Hello darling readers and newer followers, welcome!  If I have not visited you, please leave me a comment so that I can access your blog.  I hope you had a great weekend.  I worked both Sat. and Sun.  It was busy, but fun.  So many funny things happen on my job as an activities associate/assistant.  This weekend I got a call from the receptionist in the front lobby saying that some one's uppers were on the floor. What are uppers, you ask?  Well, they are the top teeth of dentures.  Yep, just lying there on the carpet with no mouth to claim them.  The receptionist gave me a box of tissues and I scooped them up and brought them to the residential nursing station where the independent residents, that live in small apartments, drop by to receive their medicine from the staff.  This happened on Saturday.  Sunday I arrived at work to take the Seniors to Service. As I walked into church along with the people that wanted to attend, I  happened to see one of the residents that I know seated in church.  I stopped to ask him if he wanted me to bring his wife to service since they live in separate parts of the building but visit with one another everyday.  She is in need of more care so she resides in health care but can be wheeled to church to join him.  He told me not to bring her today because she had a really rough night last night and yesterday she threw her teeth away.  WHAT!  SHE THREW HER TEETH AWAY?  I told him I would be right back!  The mystery of the teeth was now solved!  I walked directly to the nurses' station and asked for the uppers that I had turned in yesterday to the the lost and found.  I got them them back and walked directly to the chapel and had him(the husband of the toothless wife) identify the teeth and he said, Dawn , I think they are hers and he hugged me  and thanked me for finding them.   Turns out they were hers as they were cleaned and given back to her.  How cute was it later when I saw her with her uppers, cheesing, as big as she could. I think that was her way of saying thank you!

Have  a great day darlings.  dawn xo

dawn you're looking terrific! when you first said uppers, i thought you meant some kind of pepped up medication. your works sounds very rewarding. :)

I love that story! It's so sweet. Of course you were able to save the day; I wouldn't expect anything less!

And that top is fab; sorry it didn't quite fit. I have the same issue with my hips/thighs with some tops.

Great story! It's so great when what was lost gets found! Fun shirt, too! I think the next Style Imitating Art will be hosted by Jess of Animated Cardigan or Salazar of 14 Shades of Gray. Probably in two weeks.

Oh I don't quite know whether to laugh or cry at that story! It IS funny, but sad too that the old couple are living separately... You look full of bounce and health (I mean your hair, nothing else!) xxxx

Yes indeed! HaHaHa Dawn! Those senior citizens are a trip girl. I couldn't stop laughing. When you said uppers, I figured that. Glad she got her teeth back. Love your top and your hair is simply awesome. :) I'll be gone for a week again, but things should settle down after that.

You look wonderful and I am pleased the lady got her teeth back!! I remember that happening to my grandmother a long time ago when she was still here, she lost them in her apartment though and we had to help her find them. We laughed about it a lot, she thought it was funny. But, I am glad this lady got hers back, well done you for finding them :) Hope you are doing well petal!! xxx
