VINTAGE PLEATED DRESS....

Vintage, Sharon Rothfield pleated dress/goodwill

Hello darling readers, so glad you've stopped in for a visit.  I am feeling more like myself lately, thank God.  I am sincere  when I say, thank God.  I am so grateful to be feeling better and more renewed and spiritually lifted.   God has a funny way of drawing us nearer to Him.  I have known Him for a long time but feel that this experience has helped me lean on Him in a big, (huge way) as He has brought me out of some pretty dark days full of pain and turmoil.  So you can understand my appreciation for my rejuvenation.

I finally fit the top of this vintage dress in which I have had hanging in my closet for over a year.  I could "not" thrift for probably several months and still not wear the same things twice.  Are you guilty of the same thing?  I am making an effort to wear the things that I have since I really liked them when I bought them.

This shot is probably when the deer tick crawled on my skin and bit me.  I found it on my skin yesterday and went to the doctor's with the tick in a medicine bottle as she confirmed what it was.  I took the prophylactic antibiotic which made me terribly nauseous last night.  I was happy to have discovered the little critter since they are about the size of a dot.  Anyway, I am making my way to your blogs and looking forward to seeing what you've been up to.

Have a great day and stay encouraged and inspired...love to all. dawn xo

Hey Dawn...this dress is stunning and you look fabulous in it! I am guilty of having enough thrifted clothes to not repeat anything for a long time but I do it anyway...lol. I sorry to hear about the tick. Good thing you found it.

dawn, hello lovely! yes, i'm guilty of having thrifted items, i have yet to wear, but intend to. the photos are stellar, the deer tick, & what became out of it, not so much. sorry you had to endure that, on top of everything else. glad you are feeling more like your soul self, & that your spirituality is helping you through. gracious of you to share your journey, with love. :)

Oh goodness! Having a tick live in my skin may just freak me out to the point of death haha! We don't have them here in AZ, but we make up for it with scorpions.... EW!

That dress is BEAUTIFUL! If I were you I would be wearing it all summer long.

Oh, and one last thing. I pretty much want your hair, it's beautiful!

The dress is absolutely beautiful on you.
I know what you mean about feeling closer to God at a time of a major health problem - I am off to my Dr. this am to find out what the biopsy of the tumour 'said' and what we will do about it. It (tumour) causes a good deal of pain - I know my pain is rather short term, compared to what many deal with, but at the time it is consuming! Thank God for being there to listen.

So glad you're feeling better, Dawn. This dress is so pretty and I love how you styled it with the belt. I am guilty also of having and extensive thrifted wardrobe. But, oh, isn't it fun!! I do fret over how I'm going to possibly squeeze in unworn items before it's too warm though. I know some of them will just have to be patient and wait till the next fall rolls around to make an appearance.
