A SMALL SET BACK....

This necklace could make me happier...found here

Yesterday I cried, I have not really all out wailed yet but tears welled up for 2 reasons while I was driving out of the Chick-fil-a  parking lot. ( Remember I don't have a kitchen, yet)  One, I am in pain,  and two, it has been cold here in South Jersey and the temperature change specifically on my boobs is almost like the worst purple nurple titty twister you have ever felt.  I needed comfort food so I ate a chicken sandwich, coleslaw, waffle fries and a sweet iced tea.  It did not relieve the shooting nerve pains but it made me feel better temporarily.  I have been eating really good up until this point, but I am  not a perfect eater by any stretch of the imagination.  I love salad, veggies, yogurt with honey drizzled on it topped with wheatgerm, low salt Ritz crackers with a stick of string cheese, crispy apples, green tea with honey and raw sugar,  whole wheat toast with bananas and honey, scoop of peanut butter with crackers, pretzels, blue corn tostito chips, chicken, and scrambled eggs with pepper and whole wheat toast.    Not a bad diet, but I need to exercise and I can't right now until this pain subsides.

Bingo with the Seniors went really well the other  night but I found out that unless I am on workman's comp., I can't work light duty which means I can't work for another week until I can actually push people in wheelchairs.  I have to thank God himself for the phone call I received from my boss before my shift yesterday to let me know because I was lying in bed when the phone rang, in pain, trying to rest before my shift,  it was her telling me not to come in until I can do full duty.  Yesterday was actually 2 weeks since the surgery and I am not up for much of anything.  I went to bed early with a heating pad on my chest to keep the girls warm.  I called my docs office and had them fax me a note to keep me out for another week.  While on the phone with Lauren, a sweet girl who works in the  doc's office, I told her about the pain and she told me that she had the same procedure done about 5 years ago and she remembers the shooting nerve pains which means they are healing and alive.  She told me that it is an energy zapper when you are in constant pain....I agree.  Life goes on and in about 2 more weeks I should be about 90% better.  Thanks for listening.  I am making my way to your blog, although, some people with google plus I can't access.  Please leave me a comment on what to do about this as I would love to visit and comment.  Until then, muscle relaxers, heating pad, hot green tea with honey and rest.   dawn xo

Dawn, I have been following your surgery story and its been inspiring, gut wrenching and even entertaining. I cannot identify with your "booby" predicament as my post menapausal bosoms make Maxine in the Hallmark cards look stacked. lol! But I can identify with surgery pain. In 2010 I had surgery on two separate fingers and surgery on both my feet. I fractured my knee and tore the meniscus during this fun time. My pride was wounded for having to use crutches and a cane and having to wear those ugly boot things and then sensible flats. 2010 was a long year, but now I can wear cute heels again and my toes don't having burning pain anymore. It was worth it. Hang in there, it will be worth it.

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment on my blog... I always saw your name on other blogs, but I don't know why, although I wanted, I never dared to leave you a comment... sometimes I can be shy :)
I read about your surgery; I hope you are feeling better today, or feel better soon! I didn't understand if you had reduction - I think so - or implants... I had reduction 10 years ago - they look great now, still big, but they were too much for a short girl like me... When I just went back to work, people told me "wow, you lost so much weight..." and no, I didn't. It was because people could finally see the "rest of me"... it was a great decision, I feel and felt so better after that, and no more back pain...
Hope you have a great weekend, sorry if I shared too much, I just wanted to tell you it may take a while, but you'll be soon feeling better again!

Boy do I understand about surgery pain. I'm sad that you have to go through it. BUT you got your good cry out and on your way to healing. The worst part it over. The girls are fighting to heal. Every time you feel down think about how comfortable and great you are looking in your clothes. That should give you a little smile. Its a blessing that GOD gives man knowledge to do these different surgeries. Everything is going to be just fine. Smile

Call me crazy, but I have always hated temperature changes. It shocks my system. Good luck dealing with everything that you have going on. :)

Oh Dawn this sounds very painful- I can't imagine the shooting nerve pains- I would never even think this could be caused by the weather! I'm glad you're able to take some more time off work, enjoy your green tea with honey, rest and try to relax. xoxox We're all thinking of you!

it's okay to cry. it's okay to give your body time to heal. i'm glad you don't have to work yet, for your body isn't ready. someday, it will be, & when it is, you'll know.

Hang in there Dawn!!!! Pain is awful and I can't imagine how bad surgical pain is (luckily I've never had to have any) but just thinking of how bad my back hurts when it's pulled a muscle makes me all kinds of sad for how you must feel! Sending happy, healing, painfree thoughts your way! XO Lori

Oh dear, it sounds very painful and I'm not surprised you have been distressed. But it WILL improve, just rest, look after yourself, and as you say, in a couple of weeks it'll feel so much easier. xxxx

Oh sweetie, I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. Every body reacts to surgery in a different way. I am hoping you get better soon.
