Hello Saturday it's so nice to see you! Why am I saying this when I have to work all weekend? Yes, it bothers me sometimes but I push through and enjoy the activities at work. Chair yoga, with the seniors, is taught by a wonderful instructor whose class I take on Thursday evenings (great class the other night). I wheel everyone out to the activities area, make a big circle of wheelchairs, the instructor stands in the middle of the circle and makes her way around to each person. I join the circle and do the class as well. Some people sleep through it but most participate. After the class, I do a little activity that might include a game called
Namits created by a mom of 6 children. You can find it here very inexpensively. It is the game of "think" and the seniors love it. It is the simplest but most effective way to get people thinking. I also enjoy Sunday Service which is in another building that is connected to our building but I wheel the seniors to church and also enjoy the service immensely. They have really awesome guest speakers (who are preachers) come in and preach the word of God. I can't tell you how many times I have been blessed, have cried, prayed, given thanks and praise during that service. It is truly an amazing church and God was going to get me to church one way or another so He knew to include it in my work. I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHAT ASPECTS OF YOUR WORK BRINGS YOU HAPPINESS, MAKES YOU LAUGH, CRY(
tammy don't answer this, God bless you) we know that you are having a time at work right now. I was in the medical field for 20 years so I know how stressful work can be. Believe me, there were times when I cried out to God asking him why I was still there and so miserable. I mean miserable, but He gave me a better place including Church and people (seniors) who put a smile on my face. I am not sure if we all know what each other does for a living but I would love to hear about it if you don't think it is too personal. I wonder how many of us are in the field that was our intended purpose, the field that satisfies our soul and sits just right with our psyche. The one that doesn't feel like work? Wouldn't that be nice. I am not complaining, I love the seniors but it is obvious that I love blogging, fashion, and styling my own shoots. What would your dream job be? Are you working toward achieving it? Have a great day! Dawn xo

Dawn,
I felt like this was a personal letter to me. Thanks for thinking of me.
I work in the transportation industry. It's what I've always done and I really think I'm getting to old. Two weeks of 12+ hr days are starting to take their toll.
I will hang the best I can until our youngest son is out of college. Then I make no promises. There has got to be a better way!
You know how I thrift. Well, I'm frugal in every part of my life. I'm not cheap especially on the ones I love. I do think cautiously about every dollar I spend and save every penny I can. Fortunately my husband in on the wagon with me and we make a damn good team. What I'm trying to save is I really don't need all of the money I make and I'm wondering if the stress is really worth it!
I'm getting ready to do a post and I'm going to try really hard not to do any bitching.
take care and good luck with the (.)(.)'s!!!!
Yes, I love my job, but yes I'm also working this weekend on the least fun parts of it. Maybe I can have Sunday off. Cute cat!

awww your kitty, & you having the perfect job for you. :)
ouch, feels like a punch close to my heart lol...
i'm an analyst for big financial institution and i know i'm good at it. but i wake up everyday thinking that someday...someday, i will greet the mornings like i'm going to shoe sale heaven, i.e. be really really excited. that someday i will do nothing but pour my passion and vision into creating something. not sure when that someday is, but here's to keep hoping!
and thus, people who find joy in their work and don't feel work is like work are some of the luckiest people in the world. kudos to you dawn!
Lovely post, Dawn (and your kitty is so handsome, I love his face). I have a job I love (psychotherapist), but of course there are days when it, too, feels like "work".
I love your cat! He is beautiful!
I love retirement! I am busy all the time--a lot of it on the computer. I had gotten to where I hated my job and the stress was making me ill and cranky. I am so thankful to be out. If I had be able to do what I really love it would have been interior design. I think that would've been like playing all day every day. But, since I never did it, it might've been its own kind of hell.
interesting topic. I thought I had the job of my dream when I became a designer in a advertising company many years back. But after a year into the job, I was disillusioned, we constantly had to sacrifice our creativity to satisfy the clients' needs. I guess a job will be a job. It's hard when we are working for someone. But I like what I am doing now, crafting, blogging, staying home for the kids, not a real job for sure... doesn't make any dollars and cents, well...maybe some cents, but lots of satisfaction.
