KATIE HOLMES....NAUTICAL TAKE....

Katie and Dawnie

Hi darlings, today I could not help but go with a seaside spin having put these jeans on with their high waist and wide bottom.  I think it still captures the essence of Katie's look but with a bit of a nautical twist.  I feel that they are one of the most flattering and most comfortable, not to mention, inexpensive jeans I have ever owned.  I had never heard of them before I bought them so I googled Yuva and Miss Yuva popped up under Bizrate and Amazon.com.  I clicked on Amazon and it read that the jeans were currently unavailable so I clicked on Bizrate and it referred me back to Amazon.com and they had a similar pair called "tab waist".   I may check back at Marshalls or maybe even Tj Maxx to see if I can find another pair in a different style. :)   I hope you are having a pleasant Monday, I am off to the veterinarian office to pick up paperwork for puppy training then food shopping.  How exciting, I know.  Tonight Rob and I have to take the pups for their 1st training session.  Should be fun seeing them in a different environment with other dogs.  The kittens are leaving me on the 10th which is next week, I know that 3 of them already have homes....it is bitter sweet.  South Jersey Rescue has already approved applications for the adoptive owners. Two of them are being adopted together and Miss Congeniality is going to be adopted by herself but I was told she will be treated like a princess.  I will need  to stock up on Kleenex tissues next week when they go.... :(    I would like to give a shout out to Two Birds for hosting yet another Fun Inspiration Monday...visit them when you get a chance, they are lovely women who inspire you to get dressed on a Monday!!!  lots of love, Dawn xo

I love the entire look. Gorgeous and great styling. I'm in if you want to do the Prom idea for June. I've got a few ideas up my sleeve.

These pants are perfect for the challenge! They're long, slimming, have the perfect tie belt...((SWOON))!

I saw the comment you made about the prom gown idea-I think that's great and I would definitely be in (probably because I have the perfect dress in my closet, but still). What a fun challenge!

Glad to hear the puppies are doing well and that the kitties are going to great homes. I'll keep you in my thoughts this week as they go to make their forever families very happy...

XOXO,
Nicole

You had the perfect jeans for this challenge. I like the nautical take and the side by side pictures of Katie and Dawnie! I saw your prom comment, too. It reminded me of this women's choir in California that meet and sing each Sunday and they dress in vintage formal dresses. The photos in the magazine of their group were beautiful. I don't have a dress like that, but it would be fun to find one if you do this. Debbie

Beautiful Dawn! Love the jeans and I'm totally pleased you chose to pair them with that striped cardi! For the two looks I've done so far I happen to have had pieces pretty close to the inpiration looks. I like seeing everyone's different interpretation though.
The vintage dress/gown theme sounds like lots of fun! I plan to start thrifting by the beginning of June (when we will have moved and hopefully be settled into our new place/new town), so that should be perfect:-)
Thanks for stopping by my blog and your encouragement!

Hi Dawn! I look forward to your inspiration outfits each week. This was another fun take on the look. I love that you even got the necklace into the nautical theme. Also, I agree that those are fantastic jeans!

Yes...I am commenting twice on the same post...LOL! I'm spreading a little blog love around today. I was given the Blogger Luxury Award by Joandy of My Style by Joandy and I am now passing the award on to you! I'm not sure where the Luxury Blogger Award originated, but to me living below your means is a luxury because it's nice to have things you love without being stressed over how you're going to pay for them. You can find the rules for passing the award along on my post today, http://thriftygirlvintage.blogspot.com/2011/05/blogger-luxury-award-and-fifteen-frugal.html. Thanks for writing such an inspiring blog!
