INSPIRATION MONDAY...depleated

Lauren Conrad...the inspiration

Hi darling readers, how was your weekend?  I worked both days but it was easy and church with the seniors was good.  We had communion which makes my spirit feel renewed and that I am in right standing with God.  Things are good and Fall is in full effect with the cold chill, warm sun and leaves that are bursting with color in our yard.  The view from my dining room is beautiful.  Today is Inspiration Monday at Two Birds blog and I am happy for this.  Megan and Nora picked a comfy, easy inspiration this week which is what I am all about most of the time.  Lauren Conrad's clothing is gorgeous, in my opinion, and very affordable at Kohl's.

I found this pleated dress at Goodwill by H&M.  It was a maxi dress or shorter but someone had cut off the end to make it shorter and almost ruined it. (depleated) I bought it and had my tailor sew an even seam but he had to cut off more of the jagged edge therefore making it shorter so I wear it as a tunic.  It would have been great as a longer dress but for $3.99 who's complaining, not me.  I have worn this before on this blog but I am still holding out for Spring clothing and remixing what I have.  It's not easy but I'm doing it.  I am allowing myself to buy housewares but I can't tell you how many clothing items went back on the rack.  I have one rule with clothing purchases:  if it's not vintage, I can't have it.  I have not found one vintage piece worth buying.

This super comfy, super soft hat was handmade for me by my wonderful friend and follower of this blog, Bev.  Bev and I work together and I feel like I hit the jackpot when it comes to work buddies.  We just click and have way too much fun.  She is the most talented artist/nurse that I have ever met.  I actually got to watch her hand loom this hat when she brought it to work.  I love it and cherish it.  Thank you Bev.  Have a great day!  I am linking this to Thrifted Shift as she is hosting Style Imitating Art this week which is a fabulous link up in which I love participating.  Thanks for hosting ladies.  dawn xo

INSPIRATION MONDAY...Pippa Middlleton

Pippa Midddleton is our inspiration this week and I love her outfit...it is totally my style and level of comfort for all day wear....love this.  Linking up with twobirds.

Hello darlings hope you had a relaxing weekend, the weather here was just perfect.  Cool and sunny.  I worked the entire weekend and all went well with the Seniors but the Halloween post party tiredness hit me like a ton of bricks.  I was dragging myself home after work{driving with one eye} and last night I went to bed at 7pm.  The extra hour did nothing for me but I am happy to have it.  Today is Inspiration Monday and I needed this extra boost to motivate me.  Thank you lovely birds...and speaking of birds, looks as though Megan and Nora were busy this weekend...wink.

My entire outfit is NOT thrifted with the exception of my thrifted necklace for $1.99.  This is a first as we all know, I love me some thrifted finds!!   We are having this tree taken down before it falls, so I got one last shoot with it...on it, and under it.  Breakdown of my outfit: Lauren Conrad for Kohl's floral and ruffle dress on sale during the Summer, Apt. 9 sweater Kohl's on sale, Nine West Vintage Collection boots from Macy's on sale and with a gift certificate.  They were regularly $189.00 and I paid (sit down before you faint) $32.00 bucks.  Yay!  I covered them with little boots warmers things that have buttons on them.  Coach  Kristen bag, gift from my husband.  Oh by the way, I got the idea to climb the tree in this shoot from my pup Georgia after I saw her chasing a squirrel.  Now, if she could just teach me some patience...stay inspired!! Yes, that means you!  Also linking up with Patti at Visible Monday...almost forgot...sorry Patti darling....thanks for hosting!!
