VINTAGE PINS...DIY PIN

last weekend Rob and I visited the Berlin Farmers/Flea market and I picked up this dress form for $10.00.  Today I finally got around to finding a way to display my vintage flower pins and other favorites.

a closer look.  The "sweet things" pin near the top is vintage and one of my most favorite right now.  I love anything that is collage like.

this handmade pin inspired me to make the one in the photo below this one...

I made this years ago.  I mounted it on a metal Schwinn bicycle plate that I found at the Berlin flea market for 5 dollars.  The rest of the pin was collaged from broken pieces of jewelry and one of a kind gadgets that I have found along the way.   I love the lock and key detail hanging from it.  If you lose an earring, save the mate, or if  a piece of your jewelry breaks and you don't know what to do with it, gather all of your misfits and your hot glue gun and make a pin!

That's so crazy we did a similar post! Just goes to show, birds of a feather flock together! I love the pin you made - very "IN" right now with the popularity of steampunk designs - you were ahead of the curve!

The pin you made is gorgeous! And I totally love the dress form. I have an affinity for them - I had to give mine up when we moved into the rig. Actually I gave up a lot of things. Just not my clothes, shoes and jewelry. Then there are special pictures (most of them are digitized now) and souvenirs from our world travels. I have a lot of art I purchased overseas that is in storage. One day I will have a stick house again and use all of my things again. :) I just love your pictures - your posts are so beautiful. Cheers! xoxo

I have already admired your dress form and was waiting to see what you would make out of it. It's so great, they you decorated it with all your pins. Your angel pin is so nice!

That is one impressive pin collection! Great idea using the dress form to display them. Jewelry gets so much more use when it's in a place where you can see it while you're getting ready.
