This weekend was busy but in a good way. Friday night I picked up my sweet niece Emma Jane for a sleepover with aunt Dawn and Uncle Rob. She is a busy little beebop....I am giving ALL moms out there kudos from me personally because I am exhausted from just one 24 hour visit. Happy Mother's Day early...and I mean it!!! Emma Jane is my sister Jill's 2 year old...did I mention that she was terribly I mean wonderfully 2. I know she looks older but she just turned 2 in late January AND...she is 5 inches taller than your average 2 year old and therefore looks at least 3 and a half. Why wasn't I so lucky to be 5 inches taller? Anyway, I am suffering from " THE WIGGLES" overload and I am in need of a solid night of sleep. I drove her home last night at 7pm and drove myself home in comatose state. Rob and I watched a movie called "Due Date" It was totally coincidental because I will never have a due date as I am a better Aunt and Rob an Uncle. People without children do other things with their time like rescue stray animals, take regular naps, enjoy peace and quiet and give parents a break by having sleepovers. I grabbed an opportunity while Emma Jane took a 2 hour nap yesterday and snapped a few photos in my bedroom right next to her dreamy little self so that I could keep a watchful eye on her just in case she woke up. It didn't take me long to figure out the 3 second rule when I found her perched like a statue on the table in my bedroom or when I found her carrying a huge metal door stopper, or when I found her climbing on the baby gate that Rob installed to block the basement stairwell....just to mention a few things. It you don't know where she is every 3 seconds...start looking because she is quicker than the blink of an eye!!! I decided to dress up my jeans yesterday with my new(bought a while back but never worn) Anthropologie shirt with pink ruffles and really soft cotton{$29.99 on sale}. I paired it with my perfect fit Inc. jeans from Macy's that I bought last week using my gift certificate from xmas($29.99) My necklace and earrings were a gift and the flower clip in my hair is from Corny Flowers.com. Emma Jane' s outfit was thrifted for $2.99 from my local Goodwill...I hand washed it and hung it out on the line in my yard to dry in the warm sun...don't worry she gets new things from me too. I like to send her home in a new outfit so that my mom and sister can make a fuss over her when I take her home. Have a great Sunday and thank you for taking the time to visit...I love your comments. Dawn xo
